Current Hair Favourites

Here is my two favourite hair care and one hair styling item which I love to use.

VS Sassoon Curl Secret: It is with me for last 2 years and it gives me beautiful curly hair with little effort. Must have for this party season, it instantly transforms my looks.

Schwarzkopf Ultimate Oil Elixir Serum: Love this serum, it comes in a spray packing, it is very easy to apply and instantly makes my hair silky soft. It has very lightweight formula and gives luxurious shine, in addition it smells like a nice perfume.

Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner: An other superstore favourite,I received it for a trial from Beauty Heaven and I was surprised with the results. For my dry, damaged  colour treated hair, it truly renew the moisture and makes my hair well hydrated.

Ebay Haul

Few days back, I got three make up products from Ebay, Clinique Pop Glaze Sheer Lip Colour + primer in Sprinkle Pop, Lancome Colour Sensational Effects Eye shadow quad and Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Black market.

Actually I did not have any plan to buy anything, but Paypal sent me 20$ ebay voucher.I have created my Paypal account early this year and I have not used it much. The only conditions to use the voucher was to buy from an Aussie seller using paypal account.

After doing some research on ebay, I decided to buy these make up minis, I was really interested to try Urban decay Eye pencil, it is one of the best liners in the market and UD is not stocked in my local Mecca store. Clinique Pop Glaze is an other new product, This travel size is great to try before buy full size. Lancome eye shadow quad was not in my wishlist but it was only 6$ and I can not resist to buy it. The seller was very kind and sent me some treats with hand written thanks note. Urban decay liner cost me 11.50$ and Clinique lipstick was 12$. I ended up paying around 10$ from my pocket for these three items.

In the past I have also received 20$ ebay voucher and I spent it on Benefit Christmas pack, details are here. I have very good experience with ebay shopping. I think ebay is good place to buy travel size products, as they are not available in markets, also there are less chances of fakes.

Have you ever done beauty shopping on ebay?Love to hear your thoughts.

Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation in True Ivory103 Review

Price: 19$ from Priceline, Chemist warehouse, Pharmacies, Big W, Target and supermarkets

Swatch in True Ivory 103
Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation* is recently released in Australia, I am using it for last few days and here is my thoughts.

Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation comes in a glass Jar which is bulky and not very easy to use for me. But it do look cute because of it's colour scheme. It comes in 8 shades which are suitable for light to medium skin tone.  I am using True Ivory which is lighter than my skin tone, normally i use beige or sand colours. But still it perfectly blends into my natural colour, I think it does oxidize on my skin. The foundation has light weight texture which is between liquid and cream. It applied and blended easily with out any extra effort. I used it with brush, sponge and finger but the results are same for me. It provides light to medium coverage and those who have dark spots, pigmentation, acne or very dark circle, they need to use a good concealer with it. I have dark circles, slight redness and faded acne marks but it do covers them well when I use finishing powder over it.

The best part is it's finish, it gives me naturally matte fresh skin, looks like I am not wearing any make up. It does not look cacky, does not cling to dry patches and does not enhance pores or fine line. It does last for up to 6+  hours on my skin which is decent time of wear.

Overall, I like Rimmel Fresher Skin foundation, it is great for everyday no make up looks. This foundation is ideal for those who want natural looking foundation with matte finish and light coverage. Those who need full coverage, they can use a good concealer over it.

In Australia, summer is just there and I think this foundation is great for this upcoming season. Have you tried this foundation, and what is your favourite face product in summers.

Priceline 40% off Cosmetics Haul

Piceline recently had 40% off cosmetics sale, this time I try not to spend much. I only bought those products which I really NEED (still Loreal lipstick was just an impulse buy). I was also interested to buy NYX lip lingerie but only one shade was available even at early morning, still I manage to get 3 brow products.

 Natio, Savvy and Loreal lipstick
Models Prefer Soft Touch Powder in Soft Focus
NYX eyebrow Cake Powder, Esence Make Me Brow and NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil

I bought 3 lipsticks, Savvy, Loreal Colour Riche Moisture Matte and Natio Lip colour. Savvy lipstick in Sweet Guava costs me 90 cents only.

NYX Wonder pencil, auto eyebrow pencil and eyebrow cake powder were included in my wishlist. Nyx cake powder is my first brow kit, for last few years, I am using brown matte eye shadow as brow powder.

Essence make me brow is an other cheap buy, some bloggers describe it as Benefit Gimme brow dupe.

Have you purchase anything on this sale, and have you tried any of these product? Love to hear your thoughts.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara and Eyeliners Review

From left to right Rimmel scandaleyes precision Micro eyeliner,  precision thick and thin eyeliner and reloaded Mascara
Swatches of Rimmel scandaleyes precision Micro eyeliner (Black) and  Rimmel scandaleyes precision thick and thin eyeliner(Black) - both are highly pigmented
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Reloaded Mascara and Rimmel scandaleyes precision Micro eyeliner

Rimmel Scandaleyes Reloaded Mascara* : $17.95
Mascara comes in round tube packing with traditional wand. It is very easy to apply and it does not clumps or smudges. The formula is not very wet, and it quickly dries when I apply it. It's intense black colour and thick texture makes my lashes more prominent. It is long lasting and stays on my lashes for hours. It is water proof but it is also easy to remove, I use my normal cleanser + make up remover, and its completely gone without making my under eyes dark.

This mascara gives me natural looking eyelashes and it is good for everyday use.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner* & Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Thick and Thin Eyeliner*(12.95$):
Both eyeliners are highly pigmented, opaque and very easy to apply. The formula is not very wet, they dries in few seconds. They are smudge proof and does not budge,  even I rub my eyes, they still do not smudge or flack . They are really long lasting and last up to 8 hours on my eyes with out fading. Micro eyeliner is great for winged eyeliner, as I find that thick and think eyeliner is little bit difficult to handle at the end of flick.

I wear contact lenses and sometimes eye make up irritates my eyes, but all of these products works well with my contact lenses. Also they are easy to remove, and I do not need to rub my eyes to take them off.

Griffin and Row - Enrich Antioxidant Night Cream Review

Price and Availability: 42$ online only
I have dry skin and I can not live with out a moisturiser. An anti aging night cream is my best friend when it comes to skin care. Currently I am using Griffin and Row Enrich night cream and my skin is really loving this natural product.
Griffin and Row is an Australian skin care company, who produces naturally effective skin care which are free of harmful chemicals. Their skin care products are just like a healthy food for all skin types.

For Label Lovers
Griffin and Row Enrich Antioxidant Night Cream comes in a nice tube packing which is very easy to use and the packing keeps the ingredients away from light and air.  It has creamy consistency and has very light plants like smell. I only need pea size amount for my entire face and neck. It quickly absorbs into my dry skin with out making it greasy or oily. It is not very heavy duty, and it can work well with all skin types including dry, oily, normal and combination skin. In first few applications, it instantly moisturised my skin leaving it soft and silky. I keeps my skin well hydrated for hours and I wake up with fresh healthy looking skin.

This night cream has concentrated anti oxidant power and it can works as eye cream too. So I am not using eye cream during this trial and my skin around eyes are still looking soft and fresh. (It is an  additional benefit that I can skip an extra step into my night time routine). After few days of regular use, my skin looks silky, smooth and well hydrated. All dry patches are disappear, moisture level is increased and finally I have healthy, fresh and nourished skin for 24 hours a day.

Overall I am very happy to find this Antioxidant Night Cream and I am satisfy with the results. This  night cream is suitable for all skin types and for those who are looking natural anti aging skin care products. This night cream may not work very well with acne pron skin as it does not claim to reduce acne or break outs.

Guest Post - 7 Tricks to create more volume in your hair

There’s probably no lady in the world who wouldn’t want thick, bouncy and voluminous hair. Unfortunately, most of us are not blessed with the best hair qualities, which, of course, calls for some interesting hair tips and tricks. If you don’t have it, create it – simple as that.

Use deep cleaning shampoos

Deep cleaning shampoos work their magic impeccably, especially for ladies who like to put a lot of products on their hair. In order for the roots to be bouncy and light, all that product build-up needs to go away. Therefore, forget about shampoos that are full of silicon but go for deep cleaning ones instead. Of course, these can be aggressive, so make sure to use these only on roots of your hair, and only twice a month on the whole length. This will greatly depend on your hair type as well.

Blow-dry upside down

When you blow-dry your hair, try to do so by tilting your head forward and pushing all your hair over your face. The roots will lift up from your scalp and the warmth of a blow-dryer will keep them that way. But, if you have bangs, always dry and style them first the way you find most flattering.

Straighten your ends

If you’re not afraid to use heat in your hair, you can always finish up your look by straightening the ends of your hair with a flat iron. Roots that are already lifted up combined with sleek ends will make the voluminous effect even more apparent. Still, don’t forget to use heat-protecting spray before the flat iron.

Rediscover hot rollers

Hot rollers are a quick and easy way to add volume and dimension to your hair. For example, top quality Cloud Nine rollers leave you with the possibility to have your hair lifted up and airy after a short period of doing your beauty routine. So put those rollers in, and go tend to your skin care and makeup. By the time you’re done, you might not have defined curls but you’ll most definitely have voluminous and bouncy hair. In case you want more height and texture, use a hair spray as the rollers are cooling down.

Use special products

There are many products available that are actually marketed to volumize the hair and roots. These are root-boosting products as well as dry shampoos. Of course, using too much of these can have an opposite effect, but if you want to prolong the time before your next hair wash and use of heat,  you can definitely check out some of these products.

Change up the parting

The way you part your hair also has a significant role when it comes to the volume of your hair. In general, symmetrical middle parting lacks the volume the most, so try out different side partings until you get it right for your face shape and are finally satisfied with the amount of volume you have.

The bun technique

If you want instant volume but don’t like the idea of using heat, you can try out the bun technique. Before you go to bed, dampen your hair and tie it in a high bun loosely. When you wake up in the morning, your roots will be lifted up from the scalp which will add a nice volume to your hair. Also, you’ll have some lovely soft waves that you can style in many different ways.

Not having naturally voluminous hair is not the end of the world, especially with so many tricks to try out. Definitely check these out for yourself, and, of course, adjust the techniques the way that suits you perfectly. After all, you’re the one who knows your hair best.

October Favourites 2016

Here is few products which I used a lot in September

Maybelline Blushes Nudes Eyeshadow Palette: I like the colour selection of this palette, but there are few hits and misses. The bottom raw has better pigmentation and shades are much easy to use.

Loreal Infalible Powder Foundation: The loreal logo wear off  even after a months use but the powder foundation is not as bad as the packing, it provides good coverage and last for hours .

Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil: I own two shades dark brown and black brown. Dark brown is actually reddish while Black brown is brownish black. They are well pigmented and last for long time.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer and Shine Lipsticks: It keeps my lips hydrated and looks very natural.

Neutrogena Micelar Gel to Foam Cleanser: My new favourite two in one cleanser.

Natio Blush in Peach Glow: A perfect peach blush looks very natural on my pale complexion.

Antipodies Hossana H2O Skin Plumping Serum: I got 10 ml sample in David Jones Sampler Tote, It works well with my dry skin, it is hydrating serum and make skin silky soft.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer: An old favourite product, it is perfect for soft contouring.

Have you tried any of these products? Love to hear your thoughts.
